Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at Advance Auto Parts in Clinton, CT. As an Assistant General Manager, you will play a key role in helping to supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of our store, ensuring that we provide exceptional customer service and achieve our sales and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Store Operations: Assist the store manager in overseeing all aspects of store operations, including personnel, credit, paperwork, payroll, deliveries, pricing, shipping and receiving, customer service, warehousing and distribution, security and safety, and maintenance.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise a team of drivers, including writing and delivering performance appraisals and ensuring weekly Driver Safety Meetings take place.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels through ordering, returns, and proper analysis.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that customers receive exceptional service, including timely deliveries and proper handling of returns.
  • Leadership: Motivate, hire, and fire store employees, and provide coaching and training to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Problem-Solving: Resolve problems and make decisions in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that the store runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive industry or a comparable combination of training, education, and experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, licensed for at least 3 years, and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Managerial skills, including the ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Ambitious, results-driven, highly energetic, goal-oriented, and self-motivated individual with a positive team-player attitude.
  • Excellent selling skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to make decisions and resolve problems, with a highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.
