Event Captain Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee event space and event staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ensure staff is aware and ready to execute daily assignments and side work.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback during events.
  • Proactively engage with guests to ensure a positive experience.
  • Assist in facilitating trainings for event staff on food and wine offerings and service standards.
  • Lead and supervise event staff in all aspects and ensure service standards are followed.
  • Handle guest concerns and react quickly and professionally.
  • Assist and complete inventory logs, including alcohol consumption and event item inventory.
  • Review banquet event orders and layouts to ensure proper set-ups are in place.
  • Ensure banquet staff are well-groomed and in proper uniform before clocking in.
  • Assure proper inventory of banquet service equipment and supplies.
  • Regularly inspect front and back of the house service areas and equipment to ensure sanitation, safety, energy management, and preventive maintenance standards are met.
