Job Summary

Augusta University College of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, Chair of Prelicensure Programs position. We are the state's flagship nursing program, enrolling more than 1000 students on two campuses and at numerous academic-practice partner sites.

About the Role

The College of Nursing, an integral component of the University System of Georgia, is part of the state's only publicly-funded comprehensive academic health science center including schools of medicine, dentistry, and allied health sciences. The College of Nursing is adjacent to Augusta University Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Georgia, Georgia Cancer Center, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, providing ample opportunity for clinical experiences for students and faculty.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative leadership for the Department, including responsibility for the general direction of the Department in alignment with the College of Nursing mission and strategic plan.
  • Lead curricular revisions in alignment with the re-envisioned AACN Essentials.
  • Participate in the College of Nursing Administrative Team and report directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP).
  • Active license to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia.
  • Academic teaching, administrative and leadership experience in baccalaureate or higher prelicensure education.
  • Experience with technology-infused engaging pedagogical strategies.
  • Background commensurate with the Associate Professor level or above.
  • Evidence of contribution to the profession and recognition at the national level.
  • Expert written and verbal communication skills.
