Psychology Internship Program Coordinator

Job Summary:
The incumbent will oversee the daily operations of the psychology internship program and provide essential support to the psychology faculty. This role encompasses a variety of administrative responsibilities for the Section Chief, Training Director, psychology interns, and fellows on the Health Sciences campus. The coordinator will manage the daily activities of the APA training program, assisting the Training Director in upholding the educational standards of the program while ensuring compliance with APA accreditation standards, National Match requirements, and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support for Training Director: Organize and facilitate annual meetings with faculty, interns, and site directors; prepare for the annual internship program review by creating schedules, collecting data, and assisting in monitoring action plans.
  • Daily Operations: Oversee the daily functions of the psychology internship program, maintain communication with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with APA policies and procedures.
  • Data Management: Manage the intern and fellow management system to track duty hours and compliance; ensure that interns and faculty are trained to recognize signs of stress and fatigue.
  • Fiscal Oversight: Process documentation for reimbursements and manage leave requests for residents.
  • Curriculum Coordination: Organize intern and fellow events, ensure completion of APA-required components, and assist in developing remediation plans.
  • Human Resource Management: Address faculty, intern, and fellow needs while maintaining confidentiality and training additional staff.
  • Recruitment Activities: Assemble training files for new interns, coordinate orientation schedules, and ensure all necessary equipment is prepared.
  • Miscellaneous Duties: Provide office support, coordinate marketing activities for program recruitment, and maintain historical records.

Qualifications:
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with 4 years of professional experience, including 2 years in educational program management; or an Associate's degree with 7 years of relevant experience; or a High School diploma with 10 years of professional experience.
  • Skills: Strong ability to maintain confidentiality, detail-oriented, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
