Job Overview

Position: Kitchen Supervisor

Reporting To: Director of Operations

Status: Hourly non-exempt

Position Summary:

The Kitchen Supervisor plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the timely and safe preparation of food, adhering to established recipes and guest preferences to achieve exceptional quality. This role involves supporting the Director of Operations at Craft Culinary Concepts, LLC, ensuring top-notch food and beverage services while fostering a safe and hygienic work environment for all staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks and other personnel.
  • Provide training to kitchen staff on food production techniques and best practices.
  • Maintain high standards for food preparation, focusing on quality and presentation.
  • Ensure adherence to maintenance and cleaning schedules.
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring portion sizes and minimizing waste.
  • Support monthly inventory assessments as required.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform calculations related to recipes and portion control.
  • Assist in weekly scheduling as needed.
  • Handle cash transactions, nightly deposits, and reporting.
  • Follow detailed instructions for recipe preparation.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage alarm codes and keys for secure opening and closing procedures.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Carry out other assigned tasks as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in high-volume food service environments.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
  • Current food service certification from the relevant county.
  • Certification in safe food handling.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Valid County Food Handler Card required for each shift.
  • Ability to perform recipe-related calculations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment forms, background checks, and math assessments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Capacity to operate in a fast-paced, high-stress setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree from a recognized culinary arts program.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sustain work for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to work in varying temperature conditions and around high noise levels. Work hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
