Position Summary:
The Kitchen Supervisor plays a crucial role in guaranteeing that food is prepared safely and efficiently, adhering to established recipes and guest preferences to achieve high-quality outcomes. This role involves supporting the Director of Operations at Craft Culinary Concepts, LLC, ensuring that food and beverage services meet the highest standards while fostering a safe and hygienic work environment for all staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of all kitchen staff, including cooks and other personnel.
- Provide training to kitchen staff on food production techniques and best practices.
- Maintain high standards for food preparation, focusing on quality and presentation.
- Ensure adherence to maintenance and cleaning schedules within the kitchen.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring portion sizes and minimizing waste.
- May participate in monthly inventory assessments at the end of each period.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations applicable to food service operations.
Additional Duties:
- Perform mathematical calculations related to recipe measurements.
- Assist in scheduling staff as needed on a weekly basis.
- Handle cash transactions, nightly deposits, and related reporting.
- Follow detailed instructions for recipe preparation.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Manage alarm codes and keys for operational security.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Carry out other assigned tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in high-volume food service environments.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Current food service certification from the relevant county.
- Certification in safe food handling practices.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Possession of a valid County Food Handler Card.
- Ability to perform recipe-related mathematical calculations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of pre-employment forms and background checks.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Capacity to function in a fast-paced, high-stress setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a culinary arts training program.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sustain prolonged work periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to work in varying temperature conditions and in environments with significant noise levels. Hours may include extended and irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
