Conduct thorough investigations and resolve intricate, high-value claims efficiently and fairly with minimal oversight. Operate within established authority on moderately complex claims. Assess coverage, determine liability and compensability, gather information, coordinate property damage evaluations, and settle claims using industry best practices. Evaluate and establish reserves based on independent judgment. Support supervisors and legal representatives in preparing cases for litigation. Provide training and mentorship to new team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interprets and makes informed decisions on complex and atypical policy coverages, determining applicability to submitted claims.
  • Oversees all investigative activities related to complex claims. Guides the discovery and litigation approach in collaboration with legal counsel.
  • Analyzes claims performance and generates reports for clients, carriers, and management.
  • Establishes reserves using expertise and independent judgment, authorizing payments within designated authority, and settling claims in a cost-effective manner while ensuring timely disbursements.
  • Settles claims efficiently and fairly, issuing company drafts for claims within authority limits.
  • Identifies subrogation and third-party recovery opportunities and adheres to reclaim procedures.
  • Evaluates claims activities and prepares reports for clients, carriers, and/or management, participating in claims reviews.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Workers Compensation (WC) Adjuster License is required based on jurisdictional regulations.
  • Technical experience in claims investigations and settlements with 4-8 years in a similar role.
  • Ability to work autonomously while assimilating various technical subjects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • IIA, AIC, AEI, and/or CPCU designations.
