Senior Director of Immigration Services

Position SummaryKIND seeks a seasoned and experienced professional to serve as the Managing Director of our field office. As the head of our local office, this individual will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of our field operations, including program and performance management, budgeting, employee relations, and development-support functions.
Key Responsibilities- Program Management: Oversee the development and implementation of programs and services to support the needs of unaccompanied and separated children, including representation in immigration and state court proceedings.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor a team of attorneys and non-attorney staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with government agencies, private sector partners, and community stakeholders to advance KIND's mission and goals.
- Grant Management: Work with our development team to ensure compliance with all grant and funding requirements.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the field office team, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Education: J.D. and admission to state bar.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing immigration law, including representation of clients in humanitarian immigration claims.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising attorneys and non-attorney staff.
- Program Management: Minimum of 4 years of experience in program management, including project management, tracking deliverables, hiring, planning, and development.
- Cultural Competence: Strong record of cultural competence and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing, with excellent professional judgment and leadership skills.
