KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and implement pricing strategies for the designated area, which includes recommending and modifying Sales Representative Cost (SRC) and Price to Customers (PTC) while adhering to center-recommended guidelines.

Conduct weekly evaluations of commodity pricing and Key Value Items (KVIs), leading discussions to refine pricing strategies.

Establish promotional pricing initiatives for the area. Review and manage pricing exceptions and deviations for Territory Managers (TMs) in alignment with the area hub. This involves assessing requests for commission-based adjustments (CBAs), self-funded deviations, and price approvals. The Strategic Pricing Specialist is also accountable for formulating area-wide Deviation-on-Demand policies. Address pricing inquiries escalated from Sales and other employees within the area hub as necessary.

Design and implement training programs for TMs focused on local category and segment pricing strategies, as well as techniques for margin enhancement; provide constructive feedback to the Center and Region regarding training effectiveness and initiate additional training requests as needed.

Analyze and formulate pricing recommendations to support bids for local clientele and conduct specialized pricing assessments for new customer acquisition within the area hub.

Offer guidance to the Area Pricing Analyst on bid pricing and special pricing evaluations for non-hub distribution centers. Monitor and identify opportunities by analyzing and reporting on margins and market pricing trends. Collaborate closely with District Sales Managers (DSMs) to audit ongoing local self-funded deviations. Utilize analytical tools to pinpoint product and category opportunities for pricing strategies. Complete ad-hoc pricing analyses as requested by senior management. Manage and upload exceptions for vendor price lists from local and regional suppliers. Supervise, mentor, and oversee the Area Pricing Analyst.SUPERVISION
Pricing Analyst RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:
Region Pricing Manager; Pricing Analyst; Area President; AVP of Merchandising and Marketing; area sales team (VP Sales, Sales Manager, DSMs, CSC, and TMs)

External:
Customers, vendors TRAVEL

Travel expectations are less than 25%, with a requirement to visit each distribution center in the area monthly for at least one day, including potential overnight stays.

Other travel may be required. QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Related Experience:
A minimum of 8 years of pricing experience is required, with a preference for experience in foodservice or food manufacturing sectors. Strong quantitative and analytical skills are essential. Supervisory experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to collaborate across functions and influence senior stakeholders; demonstrated strategic thinking.
  • Proven experience in supporting sales teams; strong business acumen and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Outlook.
  • Ability to access information within established pricing databases and analyze available data. Familiarity with the PRIME pricing system is highly desirable.
Compensation is based on experience, geographic location, and other factors as permitted by law. The expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $125,000, and it is eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.
