Position Summary
The Customer Service Officer plays a vital role in overseeing the daily functions of the branch operations team. This position is tasked with delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with the establishment of new accounts, and addressing customer inquiries or issues. In the absence of the Branch Manager, the Customer Service Officer will assume their responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all deposit and withdrawal transactions.
- Manage the cash drawer for tellers.
- Assist in opening new customer accounts.
- Identify and resolve issues through thorough examination of documentation.
- Authorize transactions within designated limits.
- Utilize sound judgment to report any unusual or suspicious activities.
- Support the operations team in developing and implementing new policies.
- Handle all courier, mail, ATM, and night drop deposits.
- Process over-the-counter transactions.
- Manage telephone and fax transfers, wire transfers, and loan payments.
- Ensure accurate balancing of the cash drawer.
- Conduct research requests for customers.
- Reconcile Ban Control accounts on a daily basis.
- Comply with all relevant Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
- Maintain accurate customer files and address changes.
- Order checks and deposit slips as needed.
- Verify call back accuracy.
- Open new accounts for both individuals and businesses.
- Collect necessary identification and business documentation.
- Verify monthly certifications.
- Verify and maintain General Ledger and Ban Control balances.
- Complete daily NSF/Non-Post item processing.
- Prepare daily operational reports.
- Order cash for the branch and manage cash shipments.
- Authorize deposits and cash limits.
- Implement Reg CC holds and prepare related documentation.
- Authorize outgoing wire transfers.
- Review Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) and Oasis transactions.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in banking.
- At least 2 years of experience in customer service.
- 6 months of cash handling experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.

This position operates within a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this role, the employee will engage in regular communication, utilize various tools, and have the mobility to navigate the office environment. The role may require occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time role with a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Overtime may be necessary based on job demands.
