Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY
Accountable for overseeing all facets of marketing for the organization, which includes leading the marketing team, fostering and sustaining positive relationships with clients and referral sources, addressing client inquiries and issues, and negotiating service agreements with managed care entities, governmental bodies, and other payers.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees daily marketing functions, ensuring the effective establishment and execution of marketing strategies.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards regarding marketing practices, including patient solicitation and the use of promotional materials.
  • Maximizes reimbursement from third-party payers through strategic negotiation of service contracts.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director/Administrator to set volume targets for the annual budget and allocates resources for the marketing department accordingly.
  • Conducts ongoing market evaluations and formulates a detailed marketing strategy aimed at achieving budgeted volume targets.
  • Implements marketing and promotional strategies to fulfill budgetary goals.
  • Establishes and nurtures strong working relationships with existing and prospective referral sources and payers.
  • Negotiates service rates with insurance case managers and other payers within established financial guidelines.
  • Recruits, trains, and directly supervises marketing team members.
  • Enhances community, customer, payer, and patient perceptions of Applied Palliative and Hospice Services as a premier service provider.
  • Leads strategic planning efforts to identify opportunities for enhanced services that meet client needs.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the markets relevant to Applied Palliative and Hospice Services, including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitive positioning.
  • Stays informed about marketing trends and shares insights with relevant personnel within the organization.
  • Understands community resources and assists clients in accessing them when services are not provided by Applied Palliative and Hospice Services.
  • Tracks and evaluates the cost-effectiveness of marketing initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in healthcare marketing management, ideally within hospice care.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage professional and administrative staff.
  • Strong marketing acumen with the ability to engage effectively with clients and the community.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate business management principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
  • Exhibits independence, organizational skills, assertiveness, adaptability, and teamwork in fulfilling job responsibilities.
