Job Overview

Bobcat of Huntsville is a recognized dealer of both new and pre-owned Bobcat compact construction machinery, including skid steers, track loaders, compact excavators, telehandlers, and utility vehicles. We deliver service both on-site and at our facility.

We are in search of a qualified and experienced Service Manager to oversee the daily functions of our service department. This role is crucial for ensuring outstanding customer service while enhancing operational efficiency and profitability. The successful candidate will possess robust leadership abilities, a customer-centric approach, and a proven history of managing service teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Service Department.
  • Ensure a sufficient and well-trained staff of customer-facing service technicians.
  • Conduct regular performance meetings to evaluate standards and goals; perform annual reviews.
  • Implement competitive compensation and incentive programs for service roles.
  • Deliver high-quality service promptly for both customer and company equipment, ensuring an efficient and organized department.
  • Establish repair methodologies and workflows to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships to promote service work.
  • Manage all warranty services to ensure fair treatment of customers and the company, optimizing warranty reimbursements.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Foreperson and Branch Manager to develop and schedule sales and expense budgets.
  • Forecast capital expenditures to support departmental maintenance and improvements.
  • Develop and maintain service efficiency and management reports.
  • Ensure the shop's condition is optimal, keeping equipment in good repair and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Comply with all relevant governmental regulations (OHSA, EPA).

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of management experience preferred.
  • Prior experience as a field or service technician is advantageous.
  • A team-oriented individual with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Personable, ethical, intelligent, and capable of maintaining composure in stressful situations.
  • Ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members.
