We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Operations Manager to join our team at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. As a key member of our culinary department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service facilities, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage labor and food costs within budget guidelines
  • Maintain a minimum 90% health department rating
  • Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures for the food service department
  • Supervise and train staff to meet minimum staffing requirements
  • Coordinate and schedule meals for Astrotrek and Space Camp programs
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning lists
  • Assist in other areas as needed
Requirements
  • High school or G.E.D. plus 2 years of formal education beyond high school level
  • 3-6 years of hands-on experience in a high-volume, full-service food environment with a minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Safe Serve certification
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation standards
  • Ability to lead, direct, and schedule staff and resources
Work Environment/Physical Demands

This position requires standing for long periods, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds. It also involves working in a kitchen/food service environment with changing temperatures and interacting with guests and employees throughout the organization.
