We are in search of a qualified and experienced Service Operations Manager to oversee our service department's daily functions, ensuring top-notch customer service while enhancing efficiency and profitability. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a customer-centric approach, and a solid history of managing service teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily functions of the Service Department.
  • Ensure an adequate team of skilled, trained, and customer-oriented service technicians.
  • Conduct regular meetings to assess performance against established standards and objectives; perform annual evaluations.
  • Implement competitive compensation and incentive structures for all service roles.
  • Deliver quality service promptly for both customer and company equipment, leading to an efficient, profitable, and well-organized department.
  • Establish repair methodologies and workflows to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships to foster a positive working environment and promote service work.
  • Manage all warranty services to ensure fair treatment for both customers and the company, optimizing warranty reimbursements from suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Foreperson and Branch Manager to develop and schedule sales and expense budgets.
  • Forecast capital expenditures to support departmental maintenance and improvements.
  • Develop and maintain all service efficiency and management reports and reporting methods.
  • Ensure the shop's condition is optimal, including keeping equipment (including vehicles) in good repair and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Comply with all governmental regulations and standards (OHSA, EPA).

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of management experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a field or service technician is advantageous.
  • A collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to customer service and the service team.
  • Personable, problem-solving leader who is ethical, intelligent, and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with customers, suppliers, departmental personnel, peers, and management.
