Position Overview:

The Public Sector Sales Consultant plays a pivotal role in promoting and selling machine sales products within a designated geographic area. The primary objective is to facilitate the sale, lease purchase, or rental of these products to various municipality markets. This role requires collaboration with a dedicated Sales Team, ensuring the ongoing stability and growth of all team members through shared values and a unified mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplifies and advocates for the consistent application of Holt CAT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) principles to align with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
  • Proactively identifies and engages potential buyers, influencing their decisions in alignment with our core values to achieve territorial and corporate sales objectives.
  • Develops and nurtures new business opportunities, expanding our customer base.
  • Analyzes and addresses specific customer requirements to enhance service quality and foster beneficial relationships.
  • Promotes our products and services to existing clients while seeking to broaden the customer base to meet organizational goals.
  • Prepares and submits timely and accurate sales reports and documentation to support business objectives.
  • Aims to meet all sales-related performance metrics during evaluation periods.
  • Contributes to the development and oversight of sales forecasts and expenses within the assigned territory to achieve business targets.
  • Completes special projects as directed by the Regional Sales Manager to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Travels to customer locations as necessary.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of CAT products and associated support services.
  • Proven expertise in sales techniques, including prospecting, objection handling, and closing sales.
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret new information for effective problem-solving.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to thorough task completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across various organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively in writing.
  • Competence in performing basic mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to read and interpret professional documents and regulations.
  • Ability to listen and comprehend spoken information effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; some college coursework or a degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required; six years or more is preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • Extensive driving is required; occasional overnight travel may be necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform job duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
  • Involves extended periods in a stationary position and occasional movement within the office.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and stamina.
  • Frequent communication with others, necessitating accurate information exchange.
