Job Overview

This role encompasses the preparation and review of work papers, financial statements, and necessary tax returns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, and oversee compilation, review, and audit engagements for diverse for-profit organizations.
  • Prepare and analyze various financial statements, ensuring thorough technical review.
  • Handle the preparation of complex tax returns.
  • Engage with various tax authorities for inquiries.
  • Exhibit the ability to supervise and prioritize multiple engagements, including effective delegation of tasks.
  • Review modifications in work performed from previous years, adapting to changes in clients' accounting practices and ensuring compliance with evolving tax laws and accounting standards.
  • Resolve accounting challenges and tax-related issues.
  • Mentor and guide new staff through their assignments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3-7 years of public accounting experience in a tax-focused environment.
  • CPA certification or evidence of progress towards certification.
  • Experience in supervisory roles and strong client relations skills.
  • Proficient understanding of GAAP and small business tax compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with ProSystems/Axcess software, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and other relevant programs for tax planning, depreciation, and accounting.
