Role Overview

The Fund Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing the firm's pooled products, serving as the primary liaison among all stakeholders to address operational and service-related needs. This position necessitates a comprehensive understanding of fund accounting, reporting, and client expectations, with an emphasis on delivering customized solutions and expert advice. The Specialist is vital in ensuring high operational efficiency and client satisfaction through adept data management and effective client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resource Provision: Serve as a crucial resource for internal teams, resolving operational challenges related to fund accounting, subscriptions, redemptions, wire transfers, and trade settlements with custodians.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage client relationships by engaging with clients and relevant vendors to guarantee consistent, high-quality service.
  • Daily Operations Oversight: Supervise daily fund operations, including cash reconciliation, NAV calculations, resolution of outstanding requests, and coordination with the Investment Team to promptly address discrepancies.
  • Data Management: Perform precise data entry tasks for portfolio accounting, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and represented in the system.
  • Trade Settlement Assistance: Support the timely and efficient settlement of trades by facilitating the trade settlement process.
  • Operational Software Expertise: Develop a thorough understanding of operational software and systems to effectively manage fund flows within the LGIP platform.
  • Report Creation: Generate essential reports to aid the portfolio management process, ensuring that accurate and relevant data is available for informed decision-making.
  • LGIP Platform Oversight: Understand the connection between the LGIP website and the investment portal, updating necessary information daily using operational software tools.
  • Process Documentation: Assist in documenting existing operational processes according to established guidelines, contributing to a comprehensive procedural manual to enhance operational clarity and efficiency.
  • Training Participation: Engage in role-specific training programs aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills relevant to the operations of the LGIP platform.
  • Commitment to Development: Dedicate oneself to ongoing professional development and performance enhancement to improve operational functions.


Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • Experience: Candidates should possess over 3 years of experience in fund accounting, investment operations, and/or portfolio accounting.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Bloomberg is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, with advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Communication Abilities: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities are critical.
  • Software Proficiency: A proven ability to learn and understand Chandler's vendor platforms and software applications is essential. Experience with Clearwater Analytics, Linedata, and/or CAPS is highly desirable.
