Role Overview:
The Fund Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the firm's pooled investment products, serving as the primary liaison among all stakeholders to meet operational and service requirements. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of fund accounting, reporting, and client expectations, with an emphasis on delivering customized solutions and expert advice. The Specialist is vital in ensuring operational efficiency and high client satisfaction through proficient data management and effective client interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resource Management: Act as a pivotal resource for internal teams, resolving operational challenges related to fund accounting, subscriptions, redemptions, wire transfers, and trade settlements with custodians.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage client relationships by collaborating with clients and relevant vendors to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Daily Operations Oversight: Supervise daily fund operations, including cash reconciliations, NAV calculations, resolution of outstanding requests, and internal communications with the Investment Team to swiftly address discrepancies.
  • Data Management: Execute precise data entry for portfolio accounting, ensuring accurate financial information is recorded and maintained.
  • Trade Support: Facilitate the timely and efficient settlement of trades, supporting the overall trade settlement process.
  • Software Proficiency: Develop a thorough understanding of operational software and systems to effectively manage fund flows within the LGIP platform.
  • Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports to assist in the portfolio management process, ensuring decision-makers have access to accurate and relevant data.
  • Platform Management: Understand the integration between the LGIP website and the investment portal, updating necessary information daily using operational software tools.
  • Process Documentation: Contribute to the documentation of existing operational processes, supporting the creation of a detailed procedural manual to enhance operational clarity and efficiency.
  • Training Participation: Engage in role-specific training programs aimed at improving knowledge and skills relevant to the operations of the LGIP platform.
  • Professional Growth: Commit to ongoing professional development and performance enhancement to improve operational effectiveness.

Qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting, investment operations, or portfolio accounting is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Bloomberg is essential, along with strong Microsoft Office skills. Expertise in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, is required.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities are crucial for success in this role.
  • Software Knowledge: A proven ability to learn and navigate Chandler's vendor platforms and software applications is important. Experience with Clearwater Analytics, Linedata, and/or CAPS is highly desirable.
