Role Overview

The Fund Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing the firm's pooled products, serving as the primary liaison among all stakeholders to address operational and service-related needs. This position necessitates a comprehensive understanding of fund accounting, reporting, and client expectations, with an emphasis on proactively delivering customized solutions and expert advice. The Specialist is crucial in ensuring high operational efficiency and client satisfaction through adept data management and effective client interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resource Management: Serve as a vital resource for internal teams, resolving operational challenges related to fund accounting, subscriptions, redemptions, wire transfers, and trade settlements with custodians.
  • Client Relationship Management: Foster and maintain client relationships by collaborating with clients and relevant vendors to guarantee consistent, high-quality service.
  • Daily Operations Oversight: Supervise daily fund operations, including cash reconciliations, NAV calculations, resolution of outstanding requests, and monitoring communications with the Investment Team to swiftly address discrepancies.
  • Data Management: Execute precise data entry tasks for portfolio accounting, ensuring accurate reflection of all financial information in the system.
  • Trade Settlement Assistance: Support the efficient and timely settlement of trades throughout the trade settlement process.
  • Operational Software Expertise: Develop a thorough understanding of operational software and systems to effectively manage fund flows within the LGIP platform.
  • Report Generation: Produce reports to facilitate the portfolio management process, ensuring the availability of accurate and relevant data for informed decision-making.
  • LGIP Platform Management: Understand the connection between the LGIP website and the investment portal, updating necessary information daily using operational software tools.
  • Process Documentation: Assist in documenting existing operational processes under established guidelines, contributing to a comprehensive procedural manual to enhance operational clarity and efficiency.
  • Training Participation: Engage in role-specific training programs aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills relevant to LGIP platform operations.
  • Professional Growth: Dedicate oneself to ongoing professional development and performance enhancement to improve operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting, investment operations, or portfolio accounting is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Bloomberg is essential, along with Microsoft Office skills. Expertise in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, is required.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities are necessary.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities are essential for this role.
  • Software Proficiency: A proven ability to learn and understand Chandler's vendor platforms and software applications is critical. Experience with Clearwater Analytics, Linedata, and/or CAPS is highly desirable.
