Axient is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Solutions Engineer to join our team and provide essential support for the STS-3 project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer direct Assessment & Authorization assistance to the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for all mission-critical information systems.
- Deliver Cybersecurity Analysis & Engineering support to ensure the secure operation of enterprise networks and critical mission data.
- Develop and maintain entries and updates in the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), coordinating and staffing A&A packages in line with DoDI Risk Management Framework.
- Prepare and distribute schedules and status reports for mission systems Certification & Accreditation (C&A).
- Register mission systems in compliance with federal regulations, ensuring adherence to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
- Review certification policies, programs, and procedures for mission systems, documenting findings and recommending improvements.
- Administer information assurance telecoms and eMASS database updates for mission systems.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to evaluate security posture and the impact of new systems and programs.
- Oversee the Vulnerability Management System, ensuring all Technical Compliance Network Orders are entered and findings are addressed.
- Review security control implementations and contribute to the Test and Evaluation Management Plan (TEMP).
- Conduct Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) and physical security penetration tests on mission systems.
- Revalidate cybersecurity controls for accredited systems, documenting findings and suggesting necessary changes.
- Assess the impact of changes in A&A policy requirements on mission system security posture.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the USSF or a related DoD organization.
- Possession of CompTIA Security + or an equivalent DOD 8570/8140 IAT/IAM level certification.
- Experience with eMASS is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework protocols and USSF A&A procedures.
- Certification as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent (e.g., SANS GIAC).
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Clearance Requirements:
Applicants must possess an active and transferrable DoD TS/SCI security clearance with a current investigation at the required level.
