Currently, we are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Cyber Security System Engineer III to support our initiatives.

The primary responsibility of the Cybersecurity System Security Engineer involves working within specialized access programs (SAPs) to support acquisition programs. This role will deliver daily support for collateral, sensitive compartmented information (SCI), and SAP activities to comply with NIST Cybersecurity standards for system assessment and authorization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of System Security Engineers and Certification and Accreditation Analysts to ensure the protection of national and international security interests during the design and testing of acquisition systems.
  • Facilitate customer and SAP community Cybersecurity working groups and participate in System Security Engineering Integrated Product Team (SSE IPT) reviews.
  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and assessment of information system security program policies, with a focus on integrating existing SAP network infrastructures.
  • Provide expert consultation and technical services on all facets of Information Security.
  • Review designs related to System Security Engineering and offer recommendations for security compliance.
  • Develop and present Cybersecurity risk management strategies to clients.
  • Support System Security Engineering for mission and training systems design and development.
  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of the Program Protection Plan and Cybersecurity Strategy.
  • Support site activation activities and design evaluations, including system testing.
  • Represent the Government Program Manager in various SSE-related working groups and advisory councils.
  • Collaborate directly with approval/accreditation authorities to secure systems' Authorization to Operate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent of 4 additional years of experience.
  • A minimum of 12 years of overall experience, including at least 8 years in an SCI or SAR environment.
  • At least 4 years of relevant SAP experience is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with security policies/manuals and relevant ICDs/JAFANs/DOD Manuals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) processes for system accreditation, as well as legacy processes (DITSCAP, DIACAP).
  • Must fulfill position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level 3 and Information Assurance Manager Level 3 within 6 months of hire. CISSP is recommended.
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
  • Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and effectively engage with various DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Demonstrate a high level of originality, creativity, and initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility (AOR), which may include extensive air and ground transportation.

The projected compensation range for this position is $134,700-$224,700. Various factors can influence the final salary/hourly rate, including Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills, and competencies aligned with the specified role, geographic location, education, and certifications.
