Cybersecurity Operations Specialist

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Specialist to become a vital member of our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems.
The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive cybersecurity support, particularly within the MILSATCOM Capability area. Our portfolio demands continuous cybersecurity oversight to safeguard our advanced satellite communication systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing, coordinating, and enforcing cybersecurity policies and standards.
- Conducting thorough vulnerability assessments utilizing various compliance assessment tools.
- Reviewing and evaluating security configurations of operating systems and network devices.
- Implementing continuous monitoring and security audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensuring compliance with security configuration guidelines for software and hardware.
- Collaborating with security managers to recommend protective measures during system development.
- Documenting and reporting security incidents in accordance with established protocols.
- Preparing necessary documentation for system interfaces and networking implementations.
- Assisting in the preparation and review of cybersecurity documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Participating in security assessments and audits to maintain high standards of cybersecurity.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or information technology.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Information Assurance or Cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and relevant security controls.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and network analysis software.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix command line and network device configurations.
- Ability to conduct security audits and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Understanding of cybersecurity compliance standards and guidelines.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and possess or be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field with a focus on Cybersecurity.
- 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity roles.
- Certifications in Linux and Cisco technologies.
- Experience in the DoD Space program.
- Advanced security testing and evaluation skills.
