Senior Cybersecurity Solutions Engineer
Job Overview:
ENSCO is on the lookout for a forward-thinking, dynamic, and highly skilled professional to contribute to the U.S. Space Force's initiatives through the MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Testing contract. This role will be situated in a collaborative and multidisciplinary setting, focusing on a wide array of strategic MILSATCOM systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Space Force clients, system stakeholders, and external partners to align cybersecurity and cryptographic requirements with system architecture.
- Establish security requirements, architecture, and design for both embedded and large-scale distributed Department of Defense space and ground control systems.
- Engage in systems engineering tasks related to Cryptographic System Security Engineering (SSE), adhering to NSA standards and regulations, as well as Cybersecurity Assessment & Authorization (A&A), Cyber System Integration Testing & Evaluation, and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) in line with NIST 800-53.
- Assist the Space Systems Command in ensuring the security, quality, timeliness, mission partner support, completeness, and regulatory compliance of Authorization to Operate (ATO) Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation.
- Support the Security Control Assessor (SCA) and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) tailored to Department of Defense baselines, audit standards, and plans of action and milestones (POA&M).
- Participate in expert threat briefings; oversee security program design, incident response strategies, cyber risk assessments, and attack surface evaluations; investigate security incidents, conduct red, blue, and purple team exercises, and develop security protocols.
- Implement risk management strategies to address vulnerabilities in system security architectures.
- Facilitate continuous monitoring or periodic assessments of networked assets, overseeing defensive cyber operations, threat intelligence, threat hunting, malware analysis, and network evaluations.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering with a focus on Information Assurance/Cybersecurity.
- Over 10 years of experience in Information Assurance/Cybersecurity.
- More than 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering Architecture/Design.
- Experience with Department of Defense space programs.
- Proficiency in Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E).
- Relevant security certification (CISSP).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Desired Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields.
- 7+ years of experience in Systems Engineering Architecture/Design.
- 7+ years of experience in Information Assurance/Cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with modern computing architectures, including CI/CD, microservices, cloud, and container technologies.
- Understanding of Systems Engineering principles throughout the system lifecycle.
- Knowledge of public and private key governance, encryption algorithms, and the mathematical foundations of encryption.
- Experience leading risk management efforts to secure system authorizations using DoD RMF tools.
- Experience delivering cybersecurity architecture and engineering services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent writing and presentation abilities; capable of producing comprehensive technical documents and reports.
- Familiarity with RMF or DIACAP Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V).
- Knowledge of NIST and CNSSI 1253 RMF Analysis and Accreditation.
- Understanding of Network Engineering and Communication Systems.
- Knowledge of the NSA end cryptographic unit certification process.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance are mandatory for consideration.
