We are currently seeking a proactive and customer-focused Cyber Security System Engineer III to contribute to our efforts in a dynamic environment.
The primary responsibility of the Cybersecurity System Security Engineer involves supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs) related to acquisition initiatives. This role entails providing daily support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP activities to ensure compliance with NIST Cybersecurity standards for system assessment and authorization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of System Security Engineers and Certification and Accreditation Analysts to safeguard national and international security interests during the design and testing of acquisition systems.
- Facilitate and co-chair cybersecurity working groups within the customer and SAP community, participating in System Security Engineering Integrated Product Team (SSE IPT) reviews.
- Oversee the formulation, execution, and assessment of information system security program policies, with a focus on integrating existing SAP network infrastructures.
- Provide expert consultation and technical services across all facets of Information Security.
- Evaluate System Security Engineering designs and offer security compliance recommendations.
- Develop and present cybersecurity risk management strategies to stakeholders.
- Support System Security Engineering for mission and training systems design and development.
- Assist in the creation and upkeep of the Program Protection Plan and Cybersecurity Strategy.
- Participate in site activation activities and design reviews, including system testing and evaluation.
- Represent the Government Program Manager in various SSE-related working groups and advisory councils.
- Collaborate directly with approval and accreditation authorities to secure systems' Authorization to Operate.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 4 additional years of equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 12 years of overall experience, including at least 8 years in an SCI or SAR environment.
- At least 4 years of relevant SAP experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with security policies/manuals and applicable ICDs/JAFANs/DOD Manuals.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) processes for system accreditation, as well as legacy processes (DITSCAP, DIACAP).
- Must fulfill position and certification requirements as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level 3 and Information Assurance Manager Level 3 within 6 months of hire. CISSP certification is recommended.
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
- Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
- Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate with various DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Demonstrate a high level of creativity, initiative, and independence.
- Willingness to travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility (AOR), which may include extensive air and ground transportation.
Compensation for this position is projected between $134,700 and $224,700, influenced by factors such as relevant experience, skills, geographic location, education, and certifications.
