Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Director of Finance and Administration, actively collaborating with both corporate departments and Technical Services teams to provide daily accounting support and ensure timely service delivery, data management, and reporting. The Senior Accountant will uphold compliance with accounting regulations, corporate policies, and contractual obligations. This role will support the development and implementation of best practice policies and procedures to optimize cash flow and guarantee accurate accounting transaction reporting.
  • Oversee vendor invoice review for proper documentation and approval before entry into the ERP system and processing payments.
  • Record and validate all expense reports, ensuring adherence to company policies and contract stipulations.
  • Manage the processing and preparation of check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
  • Assist with journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Support month-end closing through transaction analysis and reconciliation of entries in the General Ledger and relevant sub-ledgers.
  • Allocate expenditures to appropriate accounts and pools following company policies, GAAP, DCAA, and FAR.
  • Administer vendor accounts, including new vendor setup and maintaining updated vendor information.
  • Review A/P Aging monthly and provide analysis to the Director of Finance and Administration.
  • Lead all accounts payable reconciliations, including bank, payroll, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Oversee all accounts payable functions, including payroll and vendor payments.
  • Assist with project setup.
  • Support all internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of progressive accounting experience required.
  • Intermediate understanding of accounting practices and procedures, project-based accounting under federal contracts, financial statements, and the complete accounting cycle.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Attention to detail is crucial for this position.
  • Experience in government contracting is essential.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets and ERP accounting software; knowledge of Unanet is a plus.
  • Ability to create dashboards and custom reports is advantageous.
