Position Overview

This position is being filled under the expanded hiring authority for specific personnel within the Department of Defense.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, your primary responsibilities will encompass:
  • Overseeing resource distribution by evaluating funding necessities.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of financial management protocols and practices.
  • Possessing extensive experience in managing Security Cooperation programs through the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) system.
  • Utilizing analytical and decision-making skills to support allocated DoD resources for the Security Cooperation mission.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-14 level, candidates must demonstrate:

A. At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, including:
  • Managing complex financial programs, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting for government funds.
  • Conducting comprehensive analyses of budgetary policies and regulations to provide recommendations for unforeseen funding needs.
Experience may include both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through national service programs and other organizations.

Education

Substituting education for specialized experience is not permitted at this grade level.

Additional Information

The incumbent must achieve DoD Security Cooperation Workforce (SCW) Certification and fulfill ongoing learning requirements as mandated by relevant legislation. Completion of foundational certification courses within one year is required.

Financial Management Certification: The selected candidate must obtain the appropriate certification level for their role, adhering to the DoD FM Certification program requirements.
