About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Data Analyst to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a key member of our financial analysis team, you will play a critical role in improving financial accountability in the defense industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transform and consolidate large volumes of financial data to support audit preparation and management decision-making
  • Develop and maintain databases, metrics, dashboards, and applications to support financial reporting and analysis
  • Work closely with customers to understand their financial challenges and requirements
  • Lead stakeholder interviews and fact-finding efforts to identify key financial reporting issues
  • Develop business rules for customer data sets and build reconciliations to support financial reporting completeness validations
  • Generate responses to auditor requests and standardize the DoD's approach to audit response

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial reporting, audits, internal controls, or data analytics
  • Experience acquiring accounting data, building databases, generating audit samples, and responding to Provided By Client (PBC) requests
  • Experience writing SQL scripts to query databases and building reconciliations
  • Knowledge of the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL) chart of accounts, USSGL account transactions, DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), or OMB Circular A-123
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with modern relational databases, including MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Experience providing recommendations to clients or customers using BI platforms, including QlikSense or Tableau
  • Ability to comprehend stakeholder needs, communicate development plans effectively, and track progress milestones
  • Ability to navigate a complex matrix environment and manage competing priorities
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including briefing senior leadership
  • Possession of excellent organization and time management skills, to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • CPA, CGFM, or CDFM Certification

Clearance and Compensation:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required. Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154, annualized USD.
