Job Summary:

The Director of Public Safety will lead the Department of Public Safety in providing effective public safety services. This includes directing patrol services, investigative services, training services, access control, badging services, parking services, and telecommunication services in accordance with system policies and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the provision of public safety services to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Support all security functions to ensure operational alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Enforce all PHC regulations, and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Advocate for increased crime prevention, workplace violence prevention, and a secure work environment.
  • Work as part of the System Public Safety Leadership Team in support of the System Director of Public Safety and the local entity Executive Leader.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum education: BS/BA in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum experience: Seven years of general security, military, or other public safety experience and three years of leadership experience.
  • Additional qualifications: Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (IAHSS) preferred, Certified Protection Professional (ASIS) preferred, Active Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training certification preferred.

Requirements:

  • Pass psychological screening during pre-employment screening.
  • May be required to carry less lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or an expandable baton.
  • May be required to carry a company-approved firearm.
