Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Risk Management Coordinator to join our team at the City of Augusta GA. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of our facilities, vehicles, and equipment to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and implement effective safety training programs for employees, including training on proper equipment operation, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business Administration, Management, Occupational Health, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in occupational health and safety or public/private sector risk and safety programs.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Defensive Driver Certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA certification.
  • Certified Playground Inspector (CPI) certification.
  • Experience with safety management software and systems.
