Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Safety Manager to join our team at Piedmont HealthCare. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing assigned personnel and coordinating the activity of assigned personnel to provide effective security services to our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the security operations for the Public Safety Department through delegation, training, and promotes professional development.
  • Ensure the proper training and supervision of armed and un-armed staff.
  • Contribute to the professional development of Public Safety staff through the development and management of all security training.
  • Plan for and effectively manage the department budget in accordance with the System Public Safety Leadership and the local entity Executive Leader.
  • Supervise assigned personnel, and ensures proper training and discipline of those personnel.
  • Schedule assigned staff to ensure proper and efficient allocation of Public Safety resources and a secure environment as needed.
  • Manage job related projects as assigned, and works to analyze and improve processes and procedures within the organization.
  • Enforce all PHC policies, regulations and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Advocates crime prevention and a secure work environment through observation, interaction, and intervention.
  • Incident documentation and initial incident investigation.
  • Make sound judgments when utilizing force, including deadly force, to provide a safe environment.
  • Supervise, investigate, and ensure the proper conduct of, use of force encounters for all staff.
  • Demonstrate respect and courtesy in the conduct of job performance.
  • Manage the screening for and interdiction of weapons as they enter a facility.
  • Coordinates organizational interactions with local law enforcement agencies in conjunction with, or in lieu of, the Director.
Requirements
  • Ability to learn and operate computerized security systems, concealed weapons screening systems, CCTV monitoring equipment, advanced video analytics/threat detection platforms, and standard 2-way radios.
  • Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
  • Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Gather data, analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Possess public/human relations skills, able to cope with stress and emergency situations.
  • Establish and maintain effective cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Write clear and comprehensive status reports, and correspondence; present ideas and information effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to facilitate change processes and work collaboratively with diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
