About the Position

The Director of Counseling and Wellness Services provides strategic leadership and management for the Counseling and Wellness Program at Maine's Public Universities. This key role is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of counseling services to support the academic success and well-being of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement counseling services and programs to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of counseling professionals
  • Collaborate with university stakeholders to promote student success and well-being
  • Develop and manage budgets to support counseling services and programs
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing counseling services
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in clinical counseling
  • Full clinical counseling license or eligibility for licensure in Maine
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with adult learners
  • Experience in higher education settings
  • Experience with distance counseling modalities
  • Experience in clinical supervision
  • Experience in teaching and/or providing workshops/training
