POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is a senior-level sales role focused on identifying new business opportunities and expanding relationships within existing accounts, specifically for significant municipal and industrial projects. The individual will act as a Key Account Manager, tasked with driving profitable growth by building trust and credibility with a defined client portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver exceptional service and reliability to enhance customer retention and drive growth.
  • Identify and pursue new client opportunities within the industrial sector in the designated region.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for clients regarding wastewater compliance, utilizing consultative selling techniques to educate them about our services and provide unique insights into their operational needs.
  • Manage client relationships throughout project lifecycles, ensuring effective communication between clients and internal teams.
  • Conduct research to pinpoint potential business lines and identify ideal customers.
  • Formulate and execute strategic sales initiatives targeting Industrial/Manufacturing sectors and local municipalities to support the company’s objectives for profitable revenue growth.
  • Maintain an organized CRM sales pipeline by documenting all client interactions, proposals, and successful project completions.
  • Effectively propose, negotiate, and finalize profitable opportunities with both existing and prospective clients by leveraging strong relationships with senior environmental and operations executives.
  • Assess client needs, understand market dynamics, and ensure appropriate service delivery and pricing strategies.
  • Analyze account profitability and potential to develop strategies aimed at maximizing profit and expanding market presence.
  • Prepare bids and oversee project management, including equipment, labor, subcontractors, and other resources.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in sales within industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Experience engaging with municipal wastewater facilities.
  • Demonstrated success in securing bids for municipal accounts.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment and management processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience collaborating across departments to assess pricing, profitability, and resource requirements for projects.
  • Skilled in managing large-scale, complex projects.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Resilience and adaptability to navigate customer adjustments and unforeseen challenges.
  • Ability to build credibility and foster relationships.
  • Experience utilizing a CRM system.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the wastewater industrial sector is preferred.
  • Experience in industrial/commercial B-to-B sales is highly desirable.
  • A proactive, hunter-style sales approach is essential.
  • Willingness to travel locally within the assigned territory, up to 75% of the time.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A strong background in account management.
