Position Overview:


The Field Sales Consultant - Equipment Rental is responsible for driving significant sales growth, enhancing profitability, and improving account conversion, penetration, and retention within a designated area.

This role involves formulating territory-based sales strategies that foster and strengthen customer relationships, positioning The Home Depot as the preferred provider of heavy equipment rental solutions.

Key Responsibilities:


Implement all phases of the sales cycle for all accounts, which includes identifying and engaging prospects, strategic sales planning, initiating cold calls, crafting sales strategies, negotiating contracts/pricing, and finalizing sales.

Collaborate with The Home Depot's field and corporate teams on high-potential conversion and market expansion initiatives.

Utilize internal resources such as the VIP Contact Center, credit services, and field leadership to optimize customer engagement time.

Maintain administrative tasks to ensure current account information. Provide accurate sales pipeline and activity reports to management regularly and adhere to all CRM protocols. Prepare sales reports, expense accounts, and contact summaries. Frequent travel within the designated market is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least eighteen years of age.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Proven skills in account management, cold calling, and territory sales management.

A minimum of 3 years of sales experience is required.
Demonstrated sales proficiency and a strong record of success.
Must exhibit exceptional self-discipline, independence, and possess strong work ethic, teamwork, and organizational capabilities.
Effective in both closing new accounts and managing ongoing client relationships.
Strong time management abilities and capacity to prioritize sales efforts based on account potential.
Experience collaborating with other functional teams to explore new opportunities.
Familiarity with construction equipment commonly utilized in the rental sector (earthmoving, aerial, compaction, lawn & garden, etc.).
Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Dynamics CRM, Excel, smartphones, and tablets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

A college degree in Business or Marketing is preferred.
Experience in selling or renting to the construction or related equipment industry is advantageous.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

The employee is required to communicate effectively and hear. Extended periods of driving may be necessary. Working conditions may involve both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying temperatures and humidity levels.
