The Senior Vice President of Product Engineering at Wolters Kluwer is accountable for shaping the technological vision for the Compliance Solutions sector and ensuring the successful execution of product initiatives. This role encompasses comprehensive leadership over the product engineering division, including strategic planning, architectural oversight, and the management of product delivery and transformation initiatives. The individual will oversee a diverse product portfolio that features both customer-hosted software and Software as a Service solutions, primarily serving financial institutions in the United States. The SVP will cultivate a high-performing, diverse global technical team, merging technical expertise with business insight and project management proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the General Manager and the Compliance Solutions Leadership Team on technology and product direction.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of projects, programs, and releases within the technology portfolio.
  • Regularly evaluate and refine strategies and long-term plans for the technology platforms that support the business objectives and product roadmap.
  • Enhance software delivery efficiency across time, cost, scope, and quality dimensions, while continuously improving development methodologies.
  • Foster a customer-centric approach within the technology organization.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Professional Services, Support, and Operations to align product and platform requirements with the product roadmap.
  • Manage financial resources in accordance with the Compliance Solutions P&L to maximize value while minimizing expenses.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing, engaged global technical workforce, optimizing the distribution of staff and contractors.
  • Effectively manage time and company resources.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A Master's Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or Information Technology is preferred.

Experience:

  • Over 12 years of experience in leading technology teams, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large teams (100+ members).
  • Proven experience in leading global technology teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage organizations with over 100 staff members.
  • Experience in overseeing the development and delivery of complex technology systems with substantial budgets (minimum $10 million).
  • A successful track record of delivering significant projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Expertise in project planning and execution.
  • Experience in influencing business decisions within cross-functional, global technology teams, including external resource management.
  • Strong vendor relationship management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English.

Travel Requirements: Occasional domestic and international travel may be necessary based on business needs.
