Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Production Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supporting low-volume, high-mix production processes, ensuring timely completion of gel production, and driving improvements in yield, cycle time, and capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacturing Process Execution: Complete manufacturing processes to ensure timely completion of gel production, adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Preparation and Setup: Prepare materials, chemicals, areas, tooling, and equipment for production and engineering needs, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Perform quality control inspections, tests, and documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement and Development: Collaborate with the Gel Manufacturing & Engineering Manager to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Training and Documentation: Create and maintain documented work instructions, training less experienced team members, and ensuring knowledge transfer.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot production process and equipment issues, providing timely support to ensure minimal downtime and optimal production.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels of consumable products, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing waste.
- Cleaning and Organization: Regularly clean and organize production and laboratory areas, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assemble, disassemble, clean, and maintain equipment, ensuring optimal performance and extending equipment lifespan.
- Chemical Handling and Storage
- Reporting and Data Entry: Compile reports for production and development projects, accurately recording and entering information into a database.
- Team Collaboration: Assist other teams and team members as required, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- Experience: Experience in low-volume/high-mix environments with diverse processes and materials preferred. Recent college graduates with internship and/or co-op experience highly encouraged.
- Skills: Excellent hand dexterity, high level of quality and attention to detail, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to comply with safety and quality regulations.
