Position Summary
Windjammer Capital is in search of a seasoned Investment Associate or Vice President to enhance our investment team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the sourcing, assessment, due diligence, and execution of investment opportunities, as well as the management of our portfolio companies. This position entails significant responsibility and leadership in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- New Investments:
Collaborate with the deal team lead to formulate and assess investment theses. - Oversee the execution of the investment evaluation process and due diligence work plan.
- Lead and manage financial modeling and valuation analyses.
- Actively participate in investment committee meetings and key diligence discussions.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior professionals on critical economic and legal aspects of transactions.
- Organize and review all diligence findings to ensure thoroughness.
- Evaluate and select appropriate middle-market lenders.
- Guide junior team members assigned to the deal team.
Provide strategic direction on reporting and identify trends and opportunities for management.Maintain strong relationships with portfolio company management teams.Assist management with various financial analyses.Ensure compliance with quarterly reporting requirements.Lead the execution of add-on acquisitions and financing processes.Build and nurture a network within the industry.Contribute significantly in meetings with company or investment committees.Communicate effectively with lenders as necessary.Firm Management:
Engage in weekly deal meetings and contribute to firm-wide initiatives.Play an active role in recruiting, training, and mentoring junior associates.Participate in marketing and sourcing efforts by networking with investment banking contacts and intermediaries.Assist in the development of new investment strategies and sector focus.Support internal improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree from a reputable university, preferably in business, finance, or engineering. An MBA is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of business strategy, finance, and accounting, along with project management and deal structuring expertise. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in private equity or a related investment role, particularly focusing on middle-market transactions, is required. Familiarity with niche sectors such as manufacturing, specialty distribution, business services, healthcare, or consumer goods is advantageous.
