Position Summary

We are in search of a seasoned Vice President of Operations at Markforged. Your collaboration with various departments will be crucial as you strive to ensure operational success and achieve measurable outcomes aligned with our annual goals. As a vital member of the operations leadership team, your guidance will enhance efficiency, scalability, and ongoing improvement initiatives. Your efforts will significantly impact our internal teams and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

  • Promote a culture of collaboration and urgency.
  • Partner with customer support leaders to identify opportunities for enhancing operational workflows that prioritize customer satisfaction.
  • Provide global operations units with effective operational controls and business analytics to support productivity, asset management, and employee engagement goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Corporate Financial Planning & Accounting and Global Operations to assess actual financial performance.
  • Evaluate existing operational workflows, recommending and implementing enhancements to boost efficiency and team experience.
  • Establish and lead a comprehensive Safety Program and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) initiatives across all global entities.
  • Oversee daily facilities management across all regions.

Strategic Process Management:

  • Lead operations program managers in contract manufacturing to ensure effective and efficient processes.
  • Oversee operations for Markforged Sweden, focusing on operational commercialization, manufacturability requirements, and optimizing consumable and spare parts for an enhanced customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the Global Logistics Leader and 4PL Program Management to refine operating processes, data insights, and controls to ensure global fulfillment, quality management, and inventory oversight.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing leadership roles, including offshoring and leading commercialization from inception to launch.
  • At least 15 years of experience in both continuous and discrete manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in engineering for manufacturing, facilities management, and contract manufacturing.
  • Strong execution capabilities with a focus on optimizing processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • A Master's degree in business management and a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
