The Senior Wealth Management Advisor position is responsible for overseeing intricate client relationships and providing exceptional fiduciary services.

The incumbent will take the lead in ensuring client satisfaction as the primary relationship manager, collaborating with the service team and relevant Northern Trust resources to guarantee the prompt delivery of high-quality fiduciary services, effective communication of client requirements, and coordination with the client's professional advisors to identify and implement tailored advisory solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee a designated portfolio of wealth management clients, working closely with the client service team and their professional advisors to gain a comprehensive understanding of each client's objectives and needs.
  2. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of governing documents and account agreements, along with a deep understanding of fiduciary responsibilities and relevant laws, including trust and tax regulations, estate planning methodologies, financial planning, asset management, and prudent investment strategies.
  3. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance fiduciary and advisory competencies through training and practical experience.
  4. Lead client discussions focused on life-driven wealth management, providing proactive insights on Northern Trust's offerings, emerging trends, regulatory changes, and recommended actions for clients.
  5. Communicate complex concepts to clients in an accessible manner, utilizing non-technical language while maintaining a thorough understanding of various Northern Trust resources to identify opportunities for enhancing client relationships.
  6. Deliver responsive client service characterized by diplomacy and tact, ensuring regular communication through both written and verbal channels.
  7. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Northern Trust's fiduciary standards and practices, applying this knowledge judiciously to fiduciary relationships while adhering to internal policies and procedures to manage risk effectively.
  8. Foster relationships with referral sources and external advisors to expand business opportunities and represent Northern Trust in community and professional organizations.
  9. Travel as necessary to meet with clients, considering factors such as revenue potential and service requirements.
  10. Mentor and guide less experienced team members, providing leadership on fiduciary initiatives and collaborating with internal partners and external advisors to identify client needs and develop tailored solutions.
  11. Exhibit expertise across multiple disciplines, managing complex initiatives that involve diverse issues.
  12. Collaborate with various business functions to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of fiduciary and financial products and services, typically acquired through relevant work experience, is essential for managing client accounts.

Technical expertise in investments, tax, legal matters, and operations, usually gained through formal education or related experience, is required to effectively service clients.

Familiarity with fiduciary standards, principles, and applicable regulations, typically obtained through training or legal education, is necessary for account administration.

Strong skills in negotiation, problem-solving, delegation, leadership, and sales are crucial for maintaining client relationships.

Leadership and organizational capabilities are essential for defining business unit objectives, determining necessary resources, and assessing staff development needs.
