Role Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for spearheading and executing innovative technical initiatives within Mass Production, Business Planning, and New Model Development. This role aims to meet or surpass targets related to Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Employee Morale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate effective communication across all organizational levels to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Analyze daily reports to identify gaps in safety and quality, proposing actionable countermeasures and root cause analyses to foster continuous improvement.
  • Leverage data analysis and PDCA methodologies to lead and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve complex challenges.
  • Oversee equipment and processes to optimize manufacturing performance while controlling operational costs.
  • Enhance the skills of yourself and your colleagues through training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing in your area of expertise.
  • Establish priorities and make informed decisions based on data analytics to achieve business objectives effectively.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure successful project execution and goal attainment.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance equipment and process efficiency.
  • Develop and oversee investment and expense budgets to meet overall cost objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, etc.) with relevant experience in manufacturing (6 years of engineering experience may substitute for a degree).
  • Preferred experience in manufacturing co-op programs.
  • Proficient in industry-standard software applications.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, open-mindedness, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Demonstrate strong self-motivation and a passion for working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to guide and direct others towards success.
  • Showcase leadership qualities.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of multitasking and solving complex issues through analytical approaches.
  • Strong technical analysis and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience in project management.

Work Environment

  • Work in a production setting requiring personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Exposure to hydraulic oils, cutting lubricants, and various materials in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and investigation of equipment to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Utilization of hand/power tools, automation systems, and quality measurement instruments.
  • Balance between office duties and manufacturing line activities (50% each).
  • Potential for overtime hours and weekend support as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
