Position Overview:
The Procurement Specialist for Production is responsible for overseeing the ordering and delivery of mass production components. This role requires effective planning, communication, and collaboration with suppliers to ensure seamless operations. You will utilize your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to minimize disruptions and support departmental objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of process-related systems for assigned suppliers and components, ensuring accurate material releases and inventory levels.
- Develop and sustain communication channels with suppliers to foster positive relationships focused on delivery performance.
- Identify and escalate critical issues to management, ensuring timely resource allocation and developing countermeasures to mitigate risks.
- Enhance internal and external communication networks to promote operational success and awareness within the department.
- Collaborate with project leaders to support Mass Production initiatives, ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met while minimizing downtime and production risks.
- Manage design change activities for new models in close partnership with suppliers to ensure quality and timely implementation.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures for complex problems through active engagement in Gemba activities.
- Pursue continuous improvement through the Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) cycle in areas such as supplier ordering and problem management.
- Foster the development of self and team members through training and mentoring in technical expertise.
- Support the company’s vision and business plan through participation in relevant project initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
0-4 years of experience based on educational background.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Desired Skills:
- Understanding of inventory management and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Problem-solving skills in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Additional Information:
This position may require overtime and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with critical deadlines. Travel between divisions may also be necessary.
