Position Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will spearhead the design and execution of innovative technical projects and solutions within Mass Production, Business Planning, and New Model Development. Your efforts will be crucial in meeting or surpassing targets related to Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective communication across all organizational levels to ensure a shared understanding and unified direction.
- Analyze daily reports to identify gaps in safety, quality, and delivery, and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
- Employ data analysis and PDCA methodologies to lead and collaborate with relevant departments to address complex challenges.
- Oversee equipment and processes to optimize manufacturing performance while minimizing operational costs.
- Enhance the capabilities of yourself and your colleagues through training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
- Prioritize tasks and make informed decisions based on data analytics to achieve business objectives efficiently.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful outcomes.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance equipment and process efficiency.
- Develop and oversee budgets for investments and expenses to meet overall cost objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, with relevant experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering. A minimum of 6 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- Preferred experience includes manufacturing co-op or internship roles.
- Proficient in industry-standard software applications.
- Exhibit a positive attitude, open-mindedness, and a collaborative spirit.
- Demonstrate strong self-motivation and a desire to thrive in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to guide and direct others effectively.
- Possess strong leadership qualities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Capable of multitasking and solving complex issues through analytical approaches.
- Strong technical analysis and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Project management experience is essential.
Work Environment
- Work in a production setting requiring personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
- Exposure to hydraulic oils, cutting lubricants, and various materials.
- Hands-on troubleshooting and investigation within equipment to address issues and identify improvement opportunities.
- Utilization of hand/power tools, automation equipment, and quality measurement instruments.
- Work is split between an office environment and manufacturing lineside activities.
- Overtime may be required, with potential weekend or off-shift support.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
