The Systems Engineering Division (SED) brings extensive expertise in systems engineering to various government entities and numerous public and private organizations, universities, and commercial enterprises engaged in advanced space technology applications. From systems architecture to astrodynamics, orbital debris analysis, and mission assurance, SED utilizes a vast array of engineering and business disciplines to address a dynamic portfolio of national challenges.

The Systems Performance, Estimation, and Algorithms Department (SPEAD) focuses on concept development, systems engineering, architecture analysis, and algorithm evaluation for national security space clients, with an emphasis on Radar, Electro-Optical (EO), and Infrared (IR) sensors, command and control, missile warning/missile tracking (MW/MT) missions, and space domain awareness (SDA).

Position Overview: Space Domain, Sensors, Space Control and Missile Warning Analyst

This role entails providing project and technical leadership, analytical support, algorithm development, systems engineering, and modeling and simulation analysis for space surveillance systems, tactical command and control, space protection, and missile defense. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with government representatives and Aerospace program personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical expertise and leadership in modeling and analyzing SDA and MW/MD sensors and systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses utilizing various modeling, simulation, and analytical tools.
  • Evaluate EO, IR, radar, and passive radio frequency sensor concepts and architectures.
  • Support missile tracking and custody for advanced threat targets.
  • Analyze sensor constellation performance.
  • Assist the technical lead in modeling and simulation efforts, providing guidance to early career engineers.
  • Develop proficiency in SDA, BMC2, and space control operations.
  • Lead independent assessments and studies with teams of analysts from various sources.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in mathematics, engineering, physics, computer science, or equivalent, or a bachelor's degree with eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • Five years of experience in systems engineering analysis of space surveillance systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in BMC2, SDA, or missile warning/defense mission areas.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, analysis, and algorithm development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, MATLAB, C, or FORTRAN.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current TS/SCI clearance.
  • Background in command and control.
  • Experience with EO/IR sensors for missile warning/missile defense.
  • Operational experience in space control or related domains.
  • Understanding of electronic warfare and passive RF collection modeling.
  • Experience with space surveillance network sensor operations.
  • Fluency in agile software development using object-oriented languages.
