The Systems Engineering Division (SED) brings extensive expertise in systems engineering to the U.S. government and various public and private entities, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial enterprises involved in the advanced application of space technology. From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris management, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule evaluation, and economic market analysis, SED leverages a vast array of engineering and business disciplines to address a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.

The Systems Performance, Estimation, and Algorithms Department (SPEAD) engages in concept development, systems engineering, architecture analysis, algorithm creation, and evaluation support for national security space clients, focusing on Radar, Electro-Optical (EO), and Infrared (IR) sensors, missile warning/missile tracking/missile defense (MW/MT/MD) missions, Electronic Warfare (EW), space domain awareness (SDA), and space protection and security.

Position Overview: The Space Systems Analyst (Senior Member of Technical Staff - Modeling & Simulation and Signal & Image Process Engineering) will deliver analytical support, algorithm development, systems engineering, and modeling and simulation analysis for space surveillance systems, assessing space protection and threat susceptibility, vulnerability analysis, and resilience evaluation. The candidate will collaborate closely with government clients and Aerospace program office personnel, working alongside Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) and program office staff in various locations.

Work Model: This position requires full on-site presence.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, electrical or aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development, modeling, simulation, analysis, and evaluation of MW/MT space systems.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering analysis of space surveillance systems, including system-of-systems architectures, system and sensor level evaluation and simulation, and mission performance assessment.
  • Ability to develop computational tools and simulations to support interdisciplinary analyses and perform systems engineering trade assessments.
  • Background in statistics, estimation, controls, signal processing, or a related discipline, with experience in developing and implementing tracking algorithms.
  • Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, Python, C, Java, MATLAB.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively engage with high-level government and contractor personnel.
  • A Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical degree in mathematics, electrical or aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience in the development, analysis, and evaluation of mission processing and/or mission evaluation algorithms.
  • Familiarity with EO/IR system design trade studies and requirements definition.
  • Experience in providing EO/IR algorithm and/or system functionality assessments.
  • Current TS/SCI clearance.
