Position Overview: The Space Domain, Sensors, Space Control and Missile Warning Analyst plays a crucial role in providing project and technical leadership, analytical support, algorithm development, systems engineering, and modeling and simulation analysis for space surveillance systems. This position involves direct interaction with government clients and collaboration with various program office personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical expertise and leadership in the modeling and analysis of Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Missile Warning/Missile Defense (MW/MD) systems.
- Conduct a variety of analyses utilizing modeling, simulation, and analytical capabilities, including both proprietary and commercially available tools.
- Evaluate electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), radar, and passive radio frequency sensor concepts and architectures.
- Support missile tracking and advanced threat target custody efforts.
- Analyze sensor constellation performance and provide insights to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Guide early career engineers in modeling and simulation efforts related to national security space programs.
- Develop proficiency in SDA, Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2), and space operations simulations.
- Lead independent assessments and collaborative studies with teams of analysts from various sources.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in mathematics, engineering, physics, computer science, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with eight years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in systems engineering analysis of space surveillance systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in BMC2, SDA, or missile warning and tracking mission areas.
- Experience in modeling, simulation, analysis, and algorithm development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, MATLAB, C, or FORTRAN.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with high-level personnel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience in command and control operations.
- Familiarity with EO/IR sensors, particularly in missile warning and defense contexts.
- Operational experience in space control or as an orbit analyst.
- Understanding of electronic warfare and passive RF collection modeling.
- Experience with space surveillance network sensor operations.
- Fluency in agile software development using object-oriented programming languages.
