Position Overview

LMI is in search of a proficient Mid to Senior-level Space Domain Operations Analyst, possessing expertise in space domain awareness and missile warning. This role is integral to supporting advanced analytics within U.S. Space Command's (USSPACECOM) operations, focusing on modeling, simulation, and comprehensive analysis across USSPACECOM's Unified Command Plan responsibilities. Successful candidates will exhibit strong capabilities in critical thinking, relationship management, and data analysis, while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with senior leaders and stakeholders to identify and translate their analytical needs into actionable work products.
  • Interpret and manage current and future operational concepts, campaign scenarios, and system specifications to create representative simulations for evaluating space systems and capabilities.
  • Develop and refine model-based system engineering (MBSE) data models, collaborating with government and industry partners.
  • Participate actively in Agile analytical processes and ceremonies.
  • Work alongside software developers to ensure that modeling, simulation, and analysis frameworks accurately reflect agent-based platforms and systems.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to guide advanced analytical methodologies and assess outcomes.
  • Work within interdisciplinary teams to enhance MBSE data.
  • Conduct research on technical development aspects to ensure accuracy in platform and system models.
  • Present analytical findings and products to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 to 15 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 3 to 13 years of experience. Educational qualifications may be substituted for experience.
  • Experience in space domain operations across various areas, including satellite communications, navigation, astrodynamics, missile warning, and space domain awareness.
  • Joint space warfighting experience in operational or testing environments.
  • Familiarity with modeling, simulation, and analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with clients and colleagues to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A natural curiosity and a desire to challenge oneself and others.
  • Ability to present findings and analytical models to senior leaders.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility; U.S. citizenship required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a Joint Environment or Combatant Command.
  • Background in the Missile Defense Agency or Space Delta 2.
  • Completion of Space 100, 200, or 300 courses.
  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to modeling and simulation (Python preferred, MATLAB acceptable).
  • Experience with database languages (MongoDB preferred).
  • Involvement in joint military utility assessments.
  • Familiarity with Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
  • Experience using Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering software (Cameo Systems Modeler preferred).
  • Experience with orbital analysis visualization tools.

Compensation

Target salary range: $102,000 - $180,000. Final compensation will be determined based on various factors, including skills, experience, education, and certifications.
