Key Responsibilities

This Administrative Program Coordinator role is situated within the Transportation Security Administration. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Delivering a variety of administrative support tasks, dedicating a significant portion of time to assisting management in assessing programs and their effectiveness in service delivery. You will engage in a mix of routine and diverse assignments aimed at enhancing the efficiency and productivity of organizational programs.
  • Providing support to program areas such as finance, human resources, scheduling, or other essential functions. Activities typically contribute to multiple projects and support various organizational units.
  • Assisting management and staff in daily office operations.
  • Compiling, monitoring, and interpreting data, employing analytical methods to conduct a range of administrative and analytical tasks in support of TSA operations.
  • Coordinating the rollout of new office policies and systems, drafting policy and procedural guidance after consulting with senior staff or subject-matter experts.
  • Engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders, including management and staff, to exchange information and coordinate efforts.
  • Leading other support personnel to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Drafting complex and sensitive correspondence, evaluating the implications of changes to policies or program characteristics in your assigned area.
  • Providing advanced technical assistance with computer systems.
  • Conducting comprehensive analytical studies of limited scope under the guidance of senior personnel.
  • Reviewing the work of junior administrative staff for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Organizing meetings, including analyzing agenda items and making recommendations on various administrative or program-related matters.
  • Offering guidance to employees and supervisors on regulations and procedures related to payroll, including unique situations requiring detailed interpretation and research. Training staff on timekeeping processes and certifying timecards each pay period.
  • Acting as a liaison with the National Finance Center to resolve payroll-related issues.
Qualifications

Employment Conditions

  1. U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status is required.
  2. A favorable Background Investigation (BI) must be completed.
  3. Selective Service registration is mandatory.

Additional Information

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-8 level in federal service or equivalent private sector experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has provided you with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position effectively. This includes:
  • Providing payroll or timekeeping support, AND
  • At least two of the following:
    • Assisting in report development;
    • Formulating recommendations based on analysis;
    • Monitoring performance metrics; OR
    • Researching records and electronic systems.
Experience is credited based on a 40-hour workweek, with part-time experience calculated accordingly.

National Service Experience (e.g., volunteer work) is recognized and can contribute to your qualifications.
