The Chief of Educational Operations is responsible for providing strategic leadership, guidance, and oversight for educational services at Eden Autism Services, focusing on the needs of students with autism from early childhood through high school.

This role encompasses the responsibilities of an educational leader and administrator, ensuring adherence to relevant educational regulations and standards.

The Chief will oversee the staffing and development of the annual educational program, which includes curriculum design, performance metrics, technology integration, and other key focus areas.

Additionally, this position acts as a vital link between the school, staff, students, and their families, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

This role is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and plays a crucial part in supporting the delivery of educational services while adhering to fiscal, legal, and ethical standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Oversight


Define the overarching objectives of the educational program and plan for the upcoming fiscal year to ensure effective communication and execution of the program.

Lead the planning processes to guarantee the development, implementation, and assessment of all educational programs and activities.

Organize, manage, evaluate, and implement clear procedures for the operation of the educational institution, consistent with the mission and values of Eden Autism Services. This includes instructional programs, extracurricular activities, performance enhancement, and disciplinary systems to maintain a safe and orderly environment.

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, administrative codes, policies, and regulations.

Develop and implement policies, programs, and curricular activities that foster the educational growth of each student and the professional development of staff.

Establish instructional objectives for various subjects and classrooms, involving staff in the creation of specific curricular goals to meet the needs of the educational program.

Gather and analyze data on student needs and achievements, including behavior support plans, to inform the design and implementation of services and programs, using insights to propose new initiatives and adjustments to existing programs.

Maintain a visible presence among students, staff, parents, and the community by regularly attending school and community events to demonstrate genuine interest in the educational environment.

Communicate and maintain a public relations strategy that consistently celebrates and informs stakeholders about the accomplishments, programs, and activities of the school.

Ensure that employee and student record-keeping procedures comply with state and federal regulations, implementing measures for the secure storage and integrity of both public and confidential records.

Complete necessary reports and submissions in a timely manner.

Establish procedures for disaster preparedness and response, including active shooter scenarios, severe weather, and other emergencies.

Manage the quarterly reporting process for all students, ensuring reviews for progress are conducted and feedback is provided to educators and communicated to families.

Administration and Management


Conduct interviews, hire, train, and develop staff; cultivate an effective leadership team of educators with clear expectations regarding roles and performance accountability.

Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff, including in-house training, workshops, and collaborative sessions.

Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to develop the school budget for the fiscal year, managing resources effectively and ensuring adherence to budgetary controls.

Communicate regularly with staff and parents, soliciting feedback for school improvement and conducting necessary meetings.

Oversee the procurement of school supplies and materials, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.

Participate in and/or lead various meetings, including leadership team meetings, quality assurance discussions, and board meetings.

Exemplify the highest standards of ethical and professional behavior.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Master's degree in special education or a related field.

Must possess relevant certifications in special education and administration.


Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in school administration or teaching, particularly with individuals with developmental disabilities.
A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role.

Physical and Other Requirements:


Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, bending, and lifting as required during the workday.

Vision capabilities must include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception.

Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


Specialized Skills and Knowledge

Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis and its application across various settings.

Knowledge of behavior modification techniques and curriculum implementation.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to present information effectively.

Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships with all levels of the organization and the community.

Proven problem-solving abilities, with a focus on recommending and implementing effective solutions.

Demonstrated leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate staff and engage parents and community members.

Ability to multitask in a dynamic work environment while maintaining composure under pressure.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
