Plastics Supplier Relations Specialist

Position Overview: The Plastics Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) is responsible for managing supplier relationships within the Plastics Commodity category, reporting to the Senior Plastics Commodity Manager. This role is integral to the Global Integrated Supply Chain Organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Relationship Management (40%): Identify and assess potential suppliers, conduct evaluations, participate in supplier meetings, and maintain robust relationships with key suppliers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, negotiate contracts, and enhance supplier on-time delivery while supporting inventory management.
- Project Management (30%): Lead project ideation and execution, manage strategic sourcing visual management, and partner with Supplier Quality to facilitate supplier qualifications. Stay informed on emerging technologies and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings.
- Customer Relationship Management (15%): Work closely with internal teams including Operations, R&D, Engineering, and Sales to support external customers and ensure on-time delivery.
- Global Strategy Execution (15%): Implement the Plastics Commodity Strategy effectively.
- Travel Requirements: Domestic and international travel up to 30% may be necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Sourcing, Purchasing, or Supplier Relationship Management focused on plastics.
- In-depth knowledge of the plastics market, including materials, processes, pricing dynamics, and supplier analysis.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts, reduce costs, and enhance supplier performance.
- Strong influencing skills and excellent negotiation capabilities.
- Experience with supplier risk management and performance measurement tools.

- Experience in building and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Ability to adapt and solve problems effectively under pressure.
- Commitment to continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
