Job Summary:
As a Regional Director with the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services, you will oversee the administration and direction of programs for a designated geographic area. Under the general direction of the Director of Regional Administrative Services, you will employ organizational and management skills to carry out policies, procedures, and standards. You will be accountable for the quality of management employed in carrying out this mission.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provides vision, direction, and leadership in developing, implementing, or monitoring programs goals, objectives, policies, protocols, or training initiatives.
• Communicates on a complex level with others to provide, exchange, or verify information, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve problems or complaints.
• Supervises unit/staff, including planning work schedules, monitoring output, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Selects, manages, and develops staff through conferences, mentoring, training, and performance appraisal.
• Directs or coordinates the activities of units, including budgeting, time and labor, data processing, fiscal, contracts, property management, complaint investigations, and daily operations.
• Interacts with staff or customers to discuss results of special reviews, internal audits, research studies, forecasts, and modeling exercises to provide direction and guidance to resolve issues.
• Analyzes the current and potential effect of current or proposed legislation, regulations, policies, or court rulings on agency operations.

Requirements:
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to program area, and of the principles and practices of public administration and management.
• Knowledge of facilities management principles and related state and federal policies, rules, and requirements.
• Knowledge of contract management.
• Skill in working collaboratively and cooperatively with diverse groups and in conflict resolution.
• Skill in managing multiple and competing priorities.
• Ability to direct and organize program activities.
• Ability to establish program goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to identify problems, evaluate policies and procedures, and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to develop and evaluate policies and procedures.
• Ability to prepare concise reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of others.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in emergency, stressful, and/or complex situations.
