Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for developing, organizing, and managing production schedules while ensuring alignment with material requirements. This role is crucial for maintaining a seamless flow of approved materials to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and prepare production schedules, coordinating with material needs to ensure timely availability.
  2. Oversee the movement of materials between storage and production areas.
  3. Communicate with management regarding the status of ongoing work, material availability, and any potential production challenges.
  4. Schedule personnel and equipment, confirming material supply and demand.
  5. Prepare work orders or purchase requests based on master production schedules and inventory needs.
  6. Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and inventory control.
  7. Manage the logistics of parts movement through move orders and stock transfers.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Proficiency in Excel, Access, and Outlook is essential, with SAP experience preferred.

Discretion and Judgment: The role requires the application of discretion and judgment in completing assignments of limited scope, with ongoing review throughout the process.

Impact: The successful execution of responsibilities is vital, as failure to meet objectives may disrupt schedules and programs.

Knowledge and Skills: A foundational understanding of industry principles and practices is necessary to effectively complete assigned tasks.

Collaboration: The position involves regular contact with supervisors and team members within the department.

Problem Solving: The Production Planner will develop solutions for assigned challenges of limited scope.
